This Medusa-inspired piece takes the form of a snake wrapping around the finger, with two vibrant green, pear-shaped tsavorite garnet gemstones with a total weight of 0.77 carats that meet in the middle. Surrounding them are 26 round brilliant-cut diamonds that descend onto the shoulders of the ring for extra sparkle and dimension.
Rob loves to combine tsavorite garnet with warm yellow gold, just like in his other tsavorite garnet rings. Further Serpent rings are also available with deep pink rhodolite garnets in 18k rose gold.
About the Serpent Collection
In Greek mythology, Perseus must venture into the lair of a beautiful but fearsome Gorgon to save Princess Andromeda. This legendary story has been retold over the centuries, but it’s the Gorgon we remember most. She was cursed by the Goddess Athena to live with serpents in place of her once-beautiful hair. Today, she’s known as Medusa, and she’s a character that Rob is continually inspired by.
Some years ago, when Rob was at a tattoo exhibition in New York, he was drawn to a painting of Medusa that was on display. Rather than let the moment pass him by, he decided to have Medusa tattooed on his arm.
Today, Rob continues to be inspired by Greek myths and the story of Medusa. His latest ring design – the Serpent – captures the movement of a two-headed snake coiled around the finger with pear-shaped coloured gemstones, diamonds and gold.
