Using Inherited Diamonds for a Bespoke Engagement Ring
We specialise in creating bespoke diamond engagement rings and gemstone engagement rings. Our customer Damien was preparing to propose to his girlfriend Jen and opted for a Robert Bicknell Fine Jewellery Proposal Ring. This temporary engagement ring is crafted in sterling silver and Swarovski crystals, meaning you can have the wow-factor proposal and then return to us later for a completely handmade engagement ring.
When Damien and his fiancée returned to our Chislehurst workshop, we talked them through the bespoke engagement ring process and settled on a combination of rose gold, diamonds and sapphires. The pair also brought along an inherited five stone diamond ring so we could reuse some of these sentimental stones.
Something Old, Something New
There were two facets to this fantastic customer commission: a bespoke engagement ring and an inherited five stone diamond ring. At Robert Bicknell Fine Jewellery, we can incorporate heirloom diamonds into new bespoke jewellery creations, so you can keep some of that sentimental feeling with you, wherever you go.
Working with Damien and Jen, we presented them with options for a romantic 18ct rose gold engagement ring, set with a sapphire as the centre stone, surrounded by two of their five inherited diamonds.
The Finished Sapphire Engagement Ring
Both Damien and Jen fell in love with the Robert Bicknell Kiss Ring – a design that has become one of our most requested engagement ring styles.
Using this as a base, we sourced a beautiful pear-shaped green sapphire for their unique engagement ring centre stone. By using their inherited diamonds, we were able to accent the sapphire with two round brilliant cut diamonds.
