Handmade By A Master Goldsmith
How It Started
Story of a Diamond Geezer
Rob got his start in jewellery making early thanks to a five-year apprenticeship in diamond mounting, which he completed by the age of 20. He started working in Hatton Garden, the famous jewellery district of London, before moving on to the home of luxury jewellery, Bond Street. Here he learned the art of antique jewellery restoration, including working on high-profile pieces for the late Queen Mother.
After working in London for the best part of a decade, Rob was headhunted by one of Australia’s largest jewellery workshops and relocated to work on pieces such as the prestigious Australia Cup before returning to England.
"I have dedicated my career to bespoke jewellery. Now, I create handmade jewellery my way and have a signature style that's all my own."

Opening Up Shop
The Home of Handmade Jewellery
Rob decided to open his own bespoke jewellery workshop in Hatton Garden, where he made pieces for London’s finest luxury jewellers and private clients. He opened his first store in Chislehurst in 2007 to focus on handmade jewellery, jewellery remodelling and restorations. In 2020, Rob relaunched his business as Robert Bicknell Fine Jewellery – a destination for bespoke jewellery in southeast London and for clients in Croydon, Bromley and Greenwich.
In 2012, Rob was chosen over more than 20 jewellers in Southeast London to create an installation for Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh to celebrate Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee. He was honoured to meet Her Majesty personally and receive her compliments about his skills in fine jewellery making.

Meet the Team
Tracy
Studio Manager
Tracy has been part of Robert Bicknell Fine Jewellery since October 2017 and is very much at the heart of everything we do.
As Boutique Manager (and now Director of the Chapel Boutique), Tracy keeps the wheels turning—often acting as ‘The Guvnor’s’ gatekeeper, especially when Rob is busy at the bench creating bespoke pieces!
She’s usually the first friendly face or voice you’ll come across, helping with everything from initial enquiries to appointments, and making sure every client feels looked after from start to finish.
In 2022, Tracy travelled to Germany with Anastasia to complete a gemmology course, adding even more knowledge to her already hands-on experience in the world of jewellery.
A true “jack of all trades,” Tracy is involved in just about every part of the business from day-to-day running and client care to helping bring new ideas to life. If something needs doing, chances are Tracy’s already on it.
Anastasia
Sales & Gemology
With over 20 years of luxury retail experience across iconic brands including Chanel, Dior, Lalique and Loewe, Anastasia brings a wealth of expertise in customer service, visual merchandising, promotional campaigns and luxury client care, having worked in prestigious stores such as Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges. At Robert Bicknell Fine Jewellery, Anastasia is not only a key part of the client journey but also serves as the dedicated Perma Jewl technician and events planner, combining creativity, precision and organisation to deliver memorable experiences both in-store and beyond.
Before joining Robert Bicknell Fine Jewellery, Anastasia worked as a laboratory technician, bringing a strong scientific foundation and meticulous attention to detail to her role. She has further expanded her passion for fine jewellery through gemmology studies in Germany alongside Tracy. Outside of the boutique, Anastasia enjoys riding her beloved horse, baking, and volunteering for animal charities—reflecting the same passion, dedication and heart she brings to every aspect of her work.
Create Something Special
Our shop is run by Candy, the loveable Staffordshire Bull Terrier — don't be fooled by her stature. She will be the first to meet you at the door and welcome you to Chislehurst. Rob is constantly joined by his right-hand man — the extremely rare Female Building Beaver — he will be at his desk, however, and ready to spend more of his time sitting around in the fine dining restaurants on his phone.
